occasions when I’m in the mood for a soda, I prefer to quench my thirst with a frosty Irn Bru. After running 9 miles a day, Husband likes to quench his deep down body thirst with an Orangina. This can get pricey at the quantities Husband’s been sucking it down on a weekly basis. So he came up with a recipe for a not-so-pricey homemade Orangina equivalent.Husband mixes equal parts orange juice and club soda in a glass and adds a couple of ice cubes. Boom, instant Orangina-like soda. Drink it up yum.

This sounds great! We try not to drink soda pop as a rule too, and use club soda or seltzer water in many of our drinks as a base for our "cocktails, and sweeten it with xylitol and stevia." We used to use tonic water sweetened with aspartame or splenda before we read all the bad stuff about that. My husband drinks a lot of orange juice and this would be a good way to cut down on the carbs.
Irn Bru? Really? I tried that when I was in Scotland in 1996, and it tasted like stale bubble gum to me. I guess it's an acquired taste?
Orangina, on the other hand, is delicious. :) I'm going to have to try the homemade version.
